What is DVA Community Nursing?

DVA Community Nursing helps eligible veterans and their families manage health conditions at home rather than in hospital or residential care. A registered nurse visits you where you live to provide clinical care, monitor your health, and support your independence, all funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Who it's for

Veterans, war widow(er)s and dependants holding a DVA Gold Card, or a White Card with an accepted condition relevant to the care needed, who have been referred for nursing support at home.

Who it's for

Services are billed directly to DVA. There is no gap fee and nothing for you to pay out of pocket for the nursing care we provide under this agreement.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. A referral from your GP or a specialist is required before DVA will fund Community Nursing services.

Will I have to pay anything out of pocket?

Which areas do you cover?

Can I access DVA and NDIS supports at the same time?
